indicator / poof / icon

indicator / poof / icon images

RocketDock utilizes default images for three items that are not actually a part of a skin or style.

  • the 'indicator' image that shows active windows/applications on the dock (if enabled)
  • the 'poof' image ( strip animation actually... ) that is shown when an icon is dragged off the dock for deletion
  • the unknown 'icon' shown when a blank icon is added to the dock

These items are not changeable via the application settings, they are normally only changeable by manually copying replacement images and renaming the default images in their associated folders.

ThemeSaver will change these automatically on a per theme basis if any or all of the images are present !

For this to work there are two conditions that must be met:

The alternate images MUST have specific filenames, but they are pretty darn obvious:

  • indicator.png
  • poof.png
  • icon.png

And, these images have to be located in the skin folder to which they are appropriately designed for.

eg. Your dock theme is built using a style/background named Fubar, the images as described above must be located in the ../RocketDock/Skins/Fubar folder.

  1. Note that just like the settings files that are replaced when a theme is applied, if any of these images are replaced the former images are renamed 'imagename'.previous.png so that they can be recovered if needed.
  2. Also, upon installation of ThemeSaver, copies of the RocketDock default images were installed in their default locations with the naming convention: 'imagename'.default.png.   Just in case...
